Invite your supporters/members to buy tickets and share the link ...

Send an email to all members, staff and contacts on your organisation’s mailing list, inviting them to buy tickets in the raffle. Request that everyone share the link on their social media channels and forward the email on to their friends and family.

Here is sample text you may wish to include in your email. Perhaps include a description of how you will spend the funds.

"Please take a moment to consider buying tickets in our Fiji resort holiday raffle for yourself or perhaps as a gift - a gift certificate is available. Then forward this email to your friends and family who may also be interested in buying a ticket or two. Please also share the link on your Facebook and other social media - much appreciated and good luck.

The raffle prize is holiday for two that includes 7 nights accommodation, all meals and more. Get the details and your tickets here: https://itstime.org/sh-exampleschooloption4

Cards: Always at hand for individual engagement ...

While the on-line raffle is convenient, it will be much more successful if ticket sellers have something to show people - it's a similar interaction as having a book of raffle tickets, but simpler and no money handling. The business card makes that easy. Importantly, don't give them away in bulk, rather give each of your ticket sellers a couple to keep with them. Then people they meet can easily scan the QR code or enter the link. PLEASE NOTE: For a limited period, Its Time Foundation will produce a box of 250 cards and post them to you - at no cost. Send requests to raffle@iitime.org including your address and phone number. A box of 250 card will cost less than $30 on-line and for most groups that is plenty to last a long time. A suggestion for printing your business cards.

Page to engage friends or use at events such as markets, BBQs, trivia nights etc ...

Your raffle will be much more successful if ticket sellers have something to show people - it's a similar interaction as having a book of raffle tickets, but simpler and no money handling. Download and print the page in A5 or A4 and give copies to everyone who will be selling tickets. Asking them to show the page to friends and family. Also, at events such as shopping centres, BBQs, trivia nights, golf days, game day, meetings, dinners etc. If your raffle is on-going or for a long period - have them laminated, so they last. Please note, simply putting the raffle link on a newsletter or website is only modestly successful - best results are when we directly ask people for their support. Of course, you can download the QR code and link to design your own page artwork. Then you can create an even stronger presentation of your raffle's purpose.

Set-and-forget: Shops, cafes, tourism businesses etc …

Download the sign and take the file to your local office supply shop or printer and get high quality copies of it printed at A5 or A4 to suit your needs. 200 gsm paper is a good choice. While there, buy some inexpensive perspex 'Portrait Slanted Sign Holders' to suit the size of your signs. Place the signs in cafes, hairdressers, doctors, and other shops. Perhaps even the local bar (ask - the worst that can happen is that the owner says no). If you are in a town with tourism, the local hotels and van parks are a great target with ever changing clients already in holiday mode. Perhaps also laminate some to put in shop windows. SUGGESTION: before download/printing change the Raffle Name to your "Organisation Name Projects" and after download you can change back to specific project names - so you don't need to change the poster in shops when you change your purposes. Not exactly set-and-forget! Be sure to occasionally visit the shops, thank them for the support and update them on how the funds are being spent. Ask members to consider preferentially using those businesses. Perhaps acknowledge them on your website, Facebook and newsletter. The more you involve them, the longer they will support you.

Post on your organisation’s social media …

Login in to your organisation's Facebook, Twitter and/or LinkedIn accounts. Then, click the share buttons below to create a post that links back to your raffle page. Mention how you are spending the funds raised. Have a schedule to do this every month and to announce when new raffles start - we'll notify you.

Use images linked to your raffle …

Add an image, with a link to your raffle, in a prominent place on your website, newsletters, blogs and other communications. The raffle renews every three or months with the same address, so the links continue working for you without need to update.

Using your custom QR code …

You can download your QR code to create your own posters, entries in web sites, newsletters etc. You will notice the text below the QR code. That does not download, but if appropriate on your artwork we suggest you copy and add that - because still a few people are not comfortable scanning the codes and they can type in the link.

A once or twice per year appeal …

If your organisation is well known in the community a door-to-door appeal can be a major success. Thanks to COVID people are familiar with QR codes and a raffle is a more friendly than directly asking for donations. Download, print and laminate the sign below - heavier grade paper is best. Divide the local area amongst your volunteers and one big effort on a Saturday and it's done. Here’s some suggested words “Hi, I’m from [your organisation]. Would you like to buy a ticket in a great Fiji holiday to assist our fundraising for [your purposes]. Please scan this QR code (or type the link) for the details and to get your tickets. We really appreciate your support.” SUGGESTION: before download/printing change the Raffle Name to "Organisation Name Projects" and after download you can change back to specific project names - so you don't need to change the poster in shops when you change your purposes.

Regularly update your network ...

Monthly, in your newsletter or directly, share raffle progress with your members/subscribers. Go the your Revenue page and click Get Summary - you can get a full summary or select a specific date range to share.

“Hey everyone! One week to go ...”

Set a diary reminder for one week before the raffle draw. Email your network and add to Facebook a message like: 'Last chance to get your holiday raffle tickets – the raffle will be drawn on 27 June 2023. Get your tickets here: https://itstime.org/sh-exampleschooloption4. Please share this email with your friends and post the link on your social media channels.'

Christmas (or other holiday) is coming …

A few weeks before Christmas (or your holiday season), send out an email and post on your social media channels reminding your network that a gift certificate is available with their raffle ticket purchase. This means that they can support your organisation by buying tickets as gifts for friends and family.

We will promote your raffle as well …

When each raffle is drawn, all ticket holders are sent an email notifying them of the winner. They are also invited to visit your raffle page to buy tickets in the new raffle. Yes, after each draw, your page automatically displays the new raffle. Let’s hope many people become regular supporters of your cause.

Actions checklist to maximise your raffle

Click on each panel and select the options applicable to your organisation’s fundraiser. Selecting “N/A” (Not Applicable) or “Done” reorders the list. Resent your list each quarter or when starting a new purpose/raffle.

Newsletters, social media, mail outs, posters are great, but most important is to directly ask friends, family, associates and neighbours to buy a ticket – just like you would if given book of raffle tickets.
